Research Technician
Job Responsibilities
• Abide by all safety and security procedures and practices
• Operate analytical instruments and/or polymer processing equipment. Record data accurately and comply with relevant company and legal requirements
• Provide accurate data in form of test report with high level of data quality
• Ensure reliable equipment operation; report if equipment reliability, accuracy or calibration is under suspicion
• Technical understanding of projects proposals and objectives. Recommend and apply appropriate test methods
• Work in partnership with Research Scientists and equipment owners to develop and implement characterization/testing programs

Requirements of Candidates
• Minimum B.S. in Chemistry, Physics, Material Science or related field
• Strong reading / writing skills in English; proficient in speaking English
• Fully support and participate in personal and data integrity and work ethics
• Utilize safe work practices, actively participate in safety activities, and understand safety policies and documentation
• Good interpersonal and teamwork skills
• Strong problem-solving skills, including literature review, learning new techniques, raising questions
• Attention to detail and accuracy
• Computer skills including Excel. Ability to quickly understand and utilize new software applications in the areas of data acquisition/manipulation and specimen submission/tracking
• Physical conditions should meet requirements for such position according to industry practice Desired skills
• Experienced in operating polymer characterization instruments (e.g., FTIR, DSC, TGA, Rheometer, DMTA, optical microscopes, AFM, SEM and GP, etc.)
• Experienced in operating polymer processing equipment (e.g., mixers, extruders, injection molding, compression molding, etc.)
• Knowledge to use advanced data treatment software (e.g., OriginPro, MatLAB, ImagePro, etc.)
